Vintage Hammett’s Astronomy Planisphere Celestial Map Sky Chart, made in  Great Britain.
This is a vintage Planisphere astrological map, made for the J. L. Hammett Co.
As stated on the planisphere, it is used for showing the Principal stars visible for every hour in the year.
The movable star chart is mounted on a paperboard disk. It is used to determine the location of constellations on any given night. It measures approx.12.5" x 12.5".  The movable round disc is in between two pieces of coated board, the top one finished in black with gold design and lettering. The round disc is mostly blue, with the constellations  illustrated in white and gold. The back of the planisphere has detailed instructions for use.
This vintage chart is functional and beautiful. As you can see in the photos, the planisphere is in very good condition with minor wear around the edges. The back is shows almost no wear and all lettring is crisp and easily readable.
